ChemistryVotes Mobilizes Voters Across the Country for the 2024 Election

In the lead-up to the 2024 U.S. Elections, ChemistryVotes served as a critical resource for industry advocates looking to learn more about how to vote in their local elections.

Visitors to ChemistryVotes.com could register to vote, learn about the candidates, and ensure their ballot was counted on time.

Highlights:

  • Through ACC’s ChemistryVotes initiative, over 5,000 election reminders were received by North Carolinians through a series of targeted emails during the election cycle.
  • In Ohio, 400+ Ohioans engaged with the upcoming election emails sent by ChemistryVotes.
  • West Virginians received regular updates from ChemistryVotes, resulting in 200 visits to the State Website and ChemistryVotes.com.

Plant Tours Educate Elected Officials Across the Country

Tours were in full swing as we visited chemical facilities across the country alongside U.S. members of Congress, Governors, and State Representatives and Agency Heads, sharing the story of chemistry with them and highlighting its importance to their states.

Nearly 130 tours were held with elected officials in 36 states! Check out details of the tours, photos, and more by following @AmChemMatters on X.

Advocacy Academy – Local Leaders Learn Politics and Policy Skills

This year, nearly 40 plant managers from around the country participated in the second year of Team Chemistry’s Advocacy Academy!

There are no better advocates for the business of chemistry than the employees of the industry. The Academy is designed to provide plant leadership and other employees with the best tools and tactics to advocate for their company and our industry.

Participants completed six months of learning and developing their skills as advocate leaders within their companies and our industry, and put what they learned to use during a Capitol Hill Fly-In in September.

Nearly 30 participants joined us in Washington D.C. to meet with congressional offices for an opportunity to discuss the critical role that chemistry plays in our economy and a modern, more sustainable world.

Thank you, Team Chemistry, for following along with our efforts this year to ensure that #TheBusinessofChemistry remains a dedicated employer, environmental steward, and contributor to a better world for the years to come.
