Today is National STEM Day – let’s look at all the ways science, technology, engineering, and math can inspire and be used in the chemistry industry. 

National STEM Day is a dedicated day to ignite students’ curiosity and passion for STEM, encouraging them to explore educational and career paths in these fields. By showcasing the vast opportunities STEM offers, this day aims to inspire students to embrace learning and innovation, setting a foundation for future discoveries.

This day actively encourages individuals from all backgrounds and experiences to consider STEM education and careers, highlighting that a wide range of perspectives and talents is essential to drive progress and solve complex challenges. It’s important to highlight STEM, because it makes products like solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicles and processes like recycling and water sanitation possible – all of which are necessary to our everyday lives. 

This STEM Day, let’s remember how critical it is to invest in the next generation of innovators through programs like the FOSSI Scholarship. Applications for the FOSSI scholarship are open now through January 31, 2025 and students who plan to attend an HBCU should apply now! STEM careers can lead to a pathway of success, with nearly 1 million STEM jobs estimated to be created before 2030.
